Canton Junction to record album

Videos have recently surfaced of a group featuring Matt Hagee (tenor), Aaron Crabb (lead), Michael Sykes (baritone), and Tim Duncan (bass.) When I posted one last week, the question on everyone’s mind was whether this group would be a recording group. Via Michael Sykes’ Facebook page, the answer is yes:

Thanks for all the kind words and support concerning Canton Junction. We’re in the process of recording and looking forward to a Spring release.

  1. Woo hoo! Best news I’ve heard all day. I hope they buy a bus and head my way!

    • i agree with stacy. i hope they come to locust fork or oneonta, alabama. i feel the LORD everytime i hear them sing. GOD has really blessed us with a new gospel group. PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.AMEN!!!

  2. Great news! I’ve already contacted some friends of mine who long for the “old days” of EH&SS with Tim. I believe Canton Junction will be a popular group in the future.

And unless memory fails me, didn’t another super group get their start as a church quartet? “The Cathedrals” I believe their name was.

  3. You are correct!

The property was sold to another organization some time back.
Just like the The Cathedral Quartet’s music, the food at the buffet building across the way was awesome. Just like the Disney’s breakfast with the characters.
Cathedral Of Tomorrow, just outside of Akron, OH

Many groups have had their beginnings in churches, Sunday Schools, bible schools, district camps and colleges.

    You are right on track.

  4. Canton Junction Quartet is a marvellous sounding quartet. Love that Tim Duncan has joined the group. He is a real asset to their quartet. Hope this quartet goes “on the road” and comes to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada in the spring. Since I have seen this group on You Tube, there is no doubt this is an award winning quartet. God Bless!

  5. Love it!! Willt hey be doing any tours. If so when will their schedule be published?
    Can hardly wait

    • Yes, they will be doing tours. For more information, see this interview with Tim Duncan: http://www.southerngospeljournal.com/archives/14099

Their schedule has not yet been announced.

      • Hi again Daniel. Just wanting to know if Canton Junction Quartet or Union Street Quartet will be coming to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada this summer in July to perform at the Westerner with other gospel quartets in a three day affair. Us fans in Alberta, Canada would love to know if either of these particular quartets are able to attend. This gospel reunion is a must to attend. God willing!

      • Hi! Sorry, I don’t know!

  6. When is their album scheduled for release. I have been searching everywhere!

  7. JUST HEARD YOU ON TBN! NO DOUBT THE BEST QUARTET I’VE HEARD IN YEARS! YOU ALL ARE ON YOUR WAY TO THE TOP. YES, AS DWIGHT THOMPSON SAID, ” YOU ARE ANOINTED”. PRAISE THE LORD FOR YOU. I WANT YOUR CD’S.

  8. I have loved SGM for over 45 years. I know these 4 guys are all veterans, but this is the best “start-up” male quartet I have ever heard. Their blend is incredible. Can’t wait to get this new album!
